Iwen Chu: Running for Asian Voices

Documentary Short, 2022

Iwen Chu (D) is the first Asian American who's running for a seat in the state senate to represent district 17 in Brooklyn, New York, where Asian voters have a plurality for the first time due to redistricting. Apart from winning the race, Iwen Chu and other politicians in this area also work to increase the voting turnout in the Asian community, which will in turn increase their political influence.

13 Weeks

Documentary in production 

13 Weeks documents the story of a group of activists launched two separate campaigns that aimed to urge Tufts University to shut down its Confucius Institute - a propaganda tool funded by the Chinese government. However, the two campaigns had their totally different fates, and this film is aimed to find out why.

Losar 2022 in Boston

Documentary Short, 2022

March 3, 2022, was the first day of the new year on the Tibetan lunisolar calendar, called “Losar”. The first day of Losar is called Lama-Losar, when people pay visits to local monasteries and receive their blessings for the new year.

After experiencing attacks and threats from some Chinese students for her firm stance as a Hongkonger (as opposed to a Chinese), Frances Hui, a journalist student at Emerson College, grew up to be a local activist and inspired many to join her fight.

An internet user found himself being framed as a traitor and received an excessive amount of cyber-attack after he posted harsh criticism of the government.

Filmbuilding Malden 

Promotion Video, 2022

Filmbuilding Malden is a city-wide program that connects communities through collaborative filmmaking projects, film screenings, and public media art events.
